Industry-Oriented Training & Internship Programs for Engineering Students On Rapid
Prototyping Technology
About the Program
This program is being organized to provide essential technical knowledge and hands-on
exposure to engineering students on CAE and Rapid Prototyping technologies and designed
in such a way that all the participating students would develop requisite skill
set with an integrated hands-on experience to transform the engineering students
into industry-ready professionals. The rapid prototyping facilities and CAE design
centre of NDRF would be made available to the students to facilitate their mini
projects as a part of the trainingprogram.
Program Organizers
This program is being organized by the National Design & Research Forum (NDRF) in
association with a dedicating training firm called Jetwings Technologies, under
the aegis of the Institution ofEngineers (India)
NDRF
NDRF was established in the year 1985 by the Institution of Engineers (India) with
an objective of providing a unified platform for Engineers, Technologists and Scientists
involved in design and allied R&D activities. NDRF is governed by a council consisting
of renowned personalities from various engineering sectors. NDRF is currently collaborating
with more than 30 engineering colleges and technical universities including NIT,
IIT's AND IISCto carry out advanced engineering projects with funding from DRDO,
AICTE, CSIR etc. NDRF has set up a RP centre with an aim to train the engineering
students. Every year NDRF also declares design awards to the professionals who achieve
excellence in design and allied fields.
Jetwings
Jetwings is a Bangalore based dedicated training and consultancy enterprise with
focus on providing Industry- oriented training to engineering students. Jetwings
successfully trained more than 1500 engineeringstudents and the training programs
involved interactions with personal from Jet airways, Taneja Aerospace, Albatrosetc.
The Institution of Engineers (India)
The Institution of Engineers is the foremost professional body for Indian engineers
with more than 5.50 lakh engineers as its members. The Institution has got 105 centres
in India and abroad for promoting various causes of engineering fraternity.
Important aspects of the Training program
For securing employment in core industries, it is imperative that students secure
hands-on experience in fields such as Design, Analysis, Simulation, Prototyping
and Manufacturing. This NDRF-Jetwings training program is a systematic effort to
train students in following domains-
Funding For Meritorious Student Batches
Every year the Institution of Engineers – RDC selects about 80 engineering student
teams from all over the country to provide funding to do projects at UG / PG levels.
The funding ranges fromRs. 50,000 to 1,25,000 per student team. The selection of
student team is done by an expert panel of IE-RDC. The student teams who have received
funding in 2010-2011, would come interact with the trainees and give ideas for their
mini projects.
